Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of the Rootli iOS app and website (together, "Rootli"), operated by Rehan Saleem, Pakistan ("we", "us"). By using Rootli you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Rootli.
1. What Rootli is
Rootli lets you save entries about your life and ask questions about them. Answers are generated by AI from the entries you saved. AI can make mistakes: it may misread an entry, miss one, or miscalculate. Check anything important against your original entries. Rootli is not professional, financial, legal, medical or tax advice, and you should not rely on it as an official record.
2. Your account
You can use Rootli as a guest with limited use, or sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in details secure. You must be at least 13 years old to use Rootli. Tell us if you suspect unauthorised use.
3. Free use and Rootli Premium
- Free and guest use includes a limited number of entries and searches in total. When you reach a limit, you will need Rootli Premium to continue adding entries or searching.
- Rootli Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, offered monthly or yearly, with a monthly allowance of entries and searches that resets at the start of each calendar month (UTC). The price is shown in the app before you subscribe and can differ by country and currency.
- Free use may be paused temporarily when demand is high. If that happens, try again later; your entries are not affected.
- You can always view, export and delete your existing entries, whether or not you subscribe.
Billing and cancellation
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period at the price of that plan.
- Manage or cancel any time in your device's Settings, under your Apple ID, then Subscriptions. Deleting the app or deleting your Rootli account does not cancel your subscription; it stays active with Apple until you cancel it there.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies. Request them through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- If you cancel, you keep Premium until the end of the period you have paid for.
- We may change prices or allowances. Price increases for existing subscribers will be handled as Apple requires, with notice and, where required, your consent.
Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app.
4. Your content
You own your entries. You give us a limited licence to store, process and send them to our service providers solely to operate Rootli for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for what you save. Do not save content that is unlawful, infringes others' rights, or that you do not have the right to store.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- attempt to break, probe or overload Rootli, or bypass limits or bot checks, including by creating many guest accounts;
- use automated means to access Rootli, or resell or share access to it;
- reverse engineer the app except where the law allows it;
- use Rootli to harm others or break the law.
6. Availability and changes
Rootli is in beta and features may change or be removed. We aim for a reliable service but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Please export your data from time to time for your own records.
7. Ending your use
You can stop using Rootli and delete your account in the app at any time. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or to protect the service. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as liability and governing law, continue after termination.
8. Disclaimers
Rootli is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows, including that answers will be accurate, complete or fit for a particular purpose.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or opportunities arising from your use of Rootli. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Rootli in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory consumer rights where you live.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and its courts have jurisdiction over disputes, except where mandatory consumer law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If changes are material, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Rootli after a change means you accept it.
